Western and Native American Art by C. George

Welcome to the Studio.
There are several pages of Art in the Studio, Western, Native American, and Sculptures. Paintings, Sculptures, and Limited Edition Reproductions
My paintings typically take three to twelve months to complete. I use a "glazing" technique that was favored by the old masters. Each painting begins with several monochrome and color studies to perfect the composition, then a monochrome under painting, followed by many layers of transparent and opaque paints to build up the final colors and details. The multiple layers of transparent paint give a texture and glow that opaque pigments cannot.

I reproduce my paintings using a photographic process. Each is individually and professionally printed from a large format, 4x5 transparency, by Fine Print Inc. of Fort Collins, Colorado using the very latest Kodak system that gives greater detail and fidelity than either lithographs or serigraphs. The life expectancy, with minimum care, is over 120 years. They are True to the Originals in every detail.

My bronze sculptures are cast with the lost wax process that retains all of the detail of the original. I personally make my molds, pull my waxes, patina and finish the bronzes. My bronzes are cast by Western Sculpting, Denver, Colorado.
